I love Genus Species...love to know what things are called
and figure out why.
So, I hate when I get an Orchid without a tag.
I have lots of books which identify them,
but it isn't always easy to get it right.
This big beautiful specimen flowers
heavily, sometimes four stalks at a time,
arching gracefully over the foliage in several directions.
And just like some Orchids are designed to do,
it will emit a fragrance to attract its polinator.
This one imitates the fragrance of cherries and chocolate
around 9 A.M. in my high North window.
