Last Week's Flowers

Late Summer flowers are a challenge but there are some
very interesting varieties that speak of the season and last well.
Bells of Ireland, Teddy Bear Sunflowers, Millet, P.G.Hydrangea,
Lysmachia, Phlox, and Asters to name a few.

Sweet Autumn Clematis...Named Well

This is one of several "volunteers"that have draped themselves
around my garden. They are climbing the Blue Atlas Cedar,
obliterating the out-of-favor Pfizer Juniper, encircling the
Hydrangea Bushes.
Their fragrance is intoxicating as long as you don't get
too close where it wanders into overly sweet and cloying.
Be warned, a Sweet Autumn Clematis planted in the garden
has a mind of its own.

Bad Photos of Great New Pottery

This is a peek at our new favorite pottery imported from
Hungary. We are expecting bowls, pitchers, mugs
berry bowls, honey pots and creamers in combinations of
Blue, Green, Chocolate,and Mustard .
Very special...not so cheap...not too dear.

It's A Wonderful Life

Oh I love my homegrown tomatoes!
Despite the cursed blight which slaughtered
some of my pet varieties, these hearty
survivors have been producing luscious fruit
for me and all my grateful neighbors.
Sungold, Comstock, San Marzano, Beefsteak
are all fabulous.
But the best are the Yellow Grape and Red Cherry
that seeded themselves from last season.
I am going to plant a Fall crop of something to
try and clear the blight buggers from my soil.

Too Busy To Blog

The 2009 garden season at Zuzu's opened right on time with
pots of Pansies...a particular favorite of ours for their
cold tolerance, color variety, fragrance, and vigor.
Since March, we have been real busy in the gardenshop
and our Blogtime has been taken up with accumulating,
marketing, and maintaing our nursery stock.
Things have quieted down a bit, and hopefully,
with a little inspiration, we will be back to Blogging.
